Profile:

Legato (meaning smooth and connected) is a new conception musical entertainment – an all-female vocal harmony group providing a combination of gospel, popular, jazz, blues, swing, folk and traditional music, all presented with a high quality, professional service, tailored to meet the requirements of your wedding, corporate or private event.

The six members of Legato have extensive experience in the Irish entertainment industry. The group was established jointly by Judy McGrath, founding director of Soul Glow Gospel Choir, and Naomi Rea, founding director  of Blackrock Junior Choir in response to a growing demand for a versatile, professional musical entertainment service. While there are a number of groups offering each of the above musical styles individually, many people prefer to have a selection of styles to choose from. Therefore we work directly with our clients to develop a programme which suits the exact needs of the audience at each function, and offer a group ranging from 2 to 6 singers depending on your requirements and budget. This ensures that every single Legato event – whether a wedding, party, corporate function or otherwise – is completely unique.

The members of Legato have sung together for a number of years and it shines in their performance. They have all had experience singing at over 200 weddings and corporate events over the last few years, having sung live on The Late Late Show, Seoige & O'Shea, BBC's NI Children In Need, the Special Olympics Ireland opening Ceremony in the Odyssey Arena, Vicar Street, the Sugar Club and they have had the opportunity to sing live on both News Talk 106 and 98fm.

Legato’s services range from singing at the wedding ceremony and wedding reception. Corporate events from background singing to performing in front of seated guests and a surprise singing waitresses act which really WOW’s your guests !

Testimonials (Just a few of the many Legato have received)

Thank you so much for everything you did to make our wedding so special. I've never heard so many people comment afterwards about how amazing the music was and ask where I found you! But you did much more than that for us from helping us choose our music to liasing with our parish priest to also beautifully performing a specially requested song for my husband. Many thanks again for everything!

Siobhain & Peter – Killiney, 20th April 2007.

We are in the process of getting back to all those who made our day so special. Our ceremony in the church was without a doubt the highlight - made all the more enjoyable and memorable by your amazing singing. You can be assured that we have had many enquiries on the day as to who was singing and we are both happy to give you a glowing reference and recommendation to anyone who requires a similar musical service. Likewise, we hope that sometime in the future we can draw on your services for an occasion befitting of your professional and remarkable singing abilities.

Pam & Ray – Castletown Church, Wexford – October 07.

We would like to THANK you for the amazing singing you all did at the Church for us. Everyone loved it. They said it really set the tone for the whole day and put everyone in good form. Someone else said the Ceremony was too short......just because they enjoyed the music so much. It was definitely my favourite part of the day. I don't think people were expecting 3 people to sing until they heard the harmonies which were beautiful, so it was a nice surprise. I would highly recommend you to anyone. I am so glad we chose you. You really made our day. Thanks a million. I can't wait to hear it on the DVD.

Hilda & Ivan – St Micheal’s Church, Mullingar-October 07.

Girls, we would like to thank you all so much for setting the tone for our “Autumn Ball”, everybody commented on the wonderful music as guests arrived and it proved difficult to move them in for their meal as so many people wanted to stay and listen to you all. Loads of guests asked about your details afterwards and I am confident you will have plenty of enquiries. Also with your help we managed to raise over €15,000 towards the local cancer support group, which we are very grateful. I look forward to working with you all again in the near future.

Leslie Tooby - Organising Committee - Autumn Ball – Glenview Hotel, Co Wicklow – October 07.

On behalf of Barnardos I would like to sincerely thank you for performing at Barnardos Spirit of Christmas Event at Dublin Castle. The wonderful concert performance ensured the event was a very memorable evening and a great success. Your performance was truly outstanding and hugely entertaining, our guests were truly impressed! As I said on the night, that was the first time ever we had our guests on their feet! We've received fantastic feedback from all our guests, on how much they enjoyed the evening. From a fundraising point of view it was a tremendous success exceeding our target and raising over €100,000 for Barnardos services. Without your support this would not have been possible.

Lisa Bryan - Fundraising Department at Barnardos Spirit of Christmas Event Dublin Castle December 2007.
